Indians Home Opener! Wahoo!

Ahh.....one of, if not my most favorite day of the year! Baseball season is finally back and the Tribe is back in town. Once again the GPACKK headed up to Cleveland early on Friday to get a head start on the festivities. We stayed at the Aloft hotel, which is really nice and I got a good deal on Priceline for it. Turns out though when we got up to our room we had one king bed for six people. We called to try to change but apparently all the double rooms were booked. Let's just say two of us slept on a deflated air mattress and the other four slept uncomfortably in one bed.

We headed downtown and made a stop at Panini's for some beer and food.  We had the cheesiest best pizza ever. At least it seemed like it at the moment. Yum. We headed down toward the stadium and just as we were about to enter we got news of the rain delay.  We were already there so we headed in anyway. That delay ended up being almost two hours and while we waited there was a downpour. Once it passed the game got started and since it was becoming later and the sun was going down, it got ridiculously cold.  I toughed it out until about the 5th inning but I needed some warmth.  We went across the street to the bar to finish watching the game.  After the game was over we stopped in at the casino for a bit before heading to our usual opening day dinner spot, Great Lakes Brewery. We had a super fantastic day and I'm already looking forward to next year! <---- Typical Clevelander huh?

Tribe Time: Wildcard Edition!

Finally, for the first time in quite a few years, the Tribe is competitive and in the playoffs again!  Those of you that know me know that I am a die-hard Tribe fan.  As soon as playoff tickets went on sale I snatched them up.  This was before they went on a huge win streak to end the season and before everyone else wanted the tickets.  We bought 8 tickets to the wildcard game and 8 tickets to Game 1 of the ALDS.  I'll tell you what, if the Indians would have made it the World Series, I would have been there 38-39 weeks pregnant and all!

We decided to take the kids since this was the first time in any of their lives the Tribe had made the playoffs.  Corey, my mom and dad were the other 3 that accompanied us.  Yes, you read that last sentence right, my father aka Debbie Downer of the Tribe agreed to go to the game with us. When we got there it was packed just trying to get in! The last time the Tribe was in the playoffs was 2007 and Paul and I attended every home playoff game.  I will never forget that season and electricity at every game.  I was really hoping this game would be the same.  Once we got in I was not disappointed.  Everyone was pumped and on their feet for most of the first few innings.  Things obviously went a little downhill from there but it was so nice to see the Tribe back at the top this season.  We can't wait for the 2014 season!!!

I'm feeling 32....

Ahhh 32 and pregnant. Not really a huge party to be had, huh? There still has to be some celebrating though!  My awesome husband took care of that and planned a fun-filled weekend for us.  On Saturday (my actual birthday) Paul and I got to a dinner all by ourselves while Mindy and Nikki watched the girls for us and did the following:

Then on Sunday my WHOLE family went to go see the red hot Tribe!  It also happened to be Slider's birthday, so we celebrated together.  The kids really enjoyed that.  For my birthday present, Jimenez made it past the 5th inning and the Tribe got the SWEEP!  The kids got to run the bases afterwards and I got some ice cream cake to end my day!

Opening Day! Go Tribe!

This year marks the 7th year in a row that Paul and I have attended the Indians Home Opener! This year we brought Morgan and Rylee with us since the game was on a Monday and we didn't have plans to stay in Cleveland like we usually do.  I was thankful for good weather, great seats and the return of baseball!

31!

I'm at that point in my life where I really have to think about it when someone asks me how old I am. I have to sit and ask myself if I'm 30 or 31 or maybe 32?  I did in fact turn 31 this year though. Most of you know this and I've said in the past, I.love.birthdays.  I love my birthday, the girls birthdays, Paul's birthday, ANY birthday.  I don't care if I'm 16, 21, 31, 54, or 88 - I'm going all out!  This year the Tribe was in town vs. Detroit the night before my birthday and since I have the luxury of having Fridays off during the summers and my birthday fell on a Friday, I did not have to work the next day.  A group of us went up for the game and then since I hadn't been to the Casino yet we headed over there afterwards.  I am very lucky to be able to have awesome family and friends who put up with my birthday antics and join me in my celebrations year in and year out.

We watched a pretty awesome ballgame, I lost a lot of money at the casino, and I enjoyed every second with the people closest to me.  See you all again when I turn 32!
