Rylee is Two!!!

Get ready for another where does the time go post.

But really?  How did this:

Turn into this:

Someone explain that to me.

Before I start with her party let's back up to about a week before when I FINALLY took her to get her first haircut. Morgan and Tenley were born with as much hair as Rylee has at 2 years old. In true Rylee fashion she hated every second of her haircut as evidenced below.

HATES.

Ok back to the party/birthday girl.  I need to take a minute and take in all of who Rylee is at two years old so I don't forget.  She is sassy, ornery, and cute as a button.  She is so very clever and understands much more than she should at her age.  I love that she puts sentences together and because she's still two it isn't very clear to a normal person but because I'm her Mommy I understand what she's saying perfectly. She is a typical little sister in that she thoroughly enjoys agitating Morgan in any way possible. At the same time, she really, really wants to do everything Morgan does and mimics her constantly. She is the best big sister and always very concerned with how Tenley is doing.  If you looked up middle child in the dictionary there would be a picture of Miss Rylee Lou next to it. I often refer to her as RG3 because her personality (and looks!) remind me so much of my father. Those of you that know him, know that I am in serious trouble.

Condiments - any kind and by themselves.

Her birthday happened to fall on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend so that is when we decided to hold her party. The night before we were watching Mackenzie and the girls decided to watch a movie and eat some popcorn in their sleeping bags. They all ended up falling asleep.

I seriously hate to admit this but I was so busy I bought her decorations (well some of them) off Etsy this year. I sooo wish I had the time to do my own but I just didn't want to have to worry about it.  I pride myself on usually being able to do it all and even though I probably could have fit this in my schedule, it wouldn't have been pretty for anyone else that lives with me.
Confession over.

Since we tend to call her our little monkey, we decided to go ahead with the Sock Monkey theme. The stuff I did get was really cute which made me feel better about my choice to buy.

The favor bags:

The fabulous cupcakes made by my friend Becky (yes the same one that just ran a marathon a week ago and has three kids of her own) who owns Sweets and Stems.  I cannot recommend her enough! She always comes up with exactly what I'm thinking of.

Birthday Banner:

It was super hot out on Sunday but actually with the breeze it wasn't that bad.  It could have been much worse though because the two days before the party we were without air conditioning.  Thanks to one of my sister's neighbors we were able to get it fixed on Saturday morning.  I think the kids all had a good time playing in the kiddie pool and our bounce house.

Unsure about everyone singing to her.

Oh but hey there are cupcakes I can make a huge mess of myself with!

She was totally not interested in opening presents with everything else going on.  Then I made the mistake of letting her open her little BBQ Grill that my mom got her in the beginning and it just went downhill from there.

She did perk up however when the next two gifts came out.

She was super hilarious in this thing and refused to steer.
She would just push the pedal and lean back and let it go.

Kids being kids.

Some of our wonderful guests/helpers/people who take orders from a crazy mom before her kids birthday parties. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

Later after everyone left we opened some of her bigger toys and put them together so we could play with them.  I wanted to make sure I got the obligatory birthday pics in.

They thought it was the funniest thing to plop down on each other's laps.
Hey, whatever floats their boats.

Her stats at Two Years were 27.5 lbs and 35.25 inches and completely healthy.
She did get a prescription for eczema which I knew was coming. Hopefully it will help!

Happy Birthday Rylee Lou!
You hold a very special place in Mommy and Daddy's hearts.
We are so looking forward to watching you grow up!
We love you!

Preschool Promotion and "Birthday"

This was a busy week at Preschool for Morgan.  Not only was it her last week of school, she celebrated her "birthday" and had her promotion and cookout.

 First things first, the "birthday".

Since Morgan has a summer birthday she got to celebrate with her classmates and bring in some yummy treats.  On a normal snack day I don't usually stay but since it was her birthday snack and she asked so nicely I took the morning off to spend the day with her at preschool.  It's amazing to me how grown up she seems anymore. It's REALLY  hard to imagine her only have a year left until Kindergarten.

First I got to watch Circle Time. They go over the weather, counting, what day it is, etc.

Then she practiced the letter "M".  Quite fitting considering it was her special day.

These just may be the cutest pictures ever.  She's going to really miss her friends this summer.

Her princess crown cupcake "cake" from Sams Club.

Saying their little thank you song.

The cupcakes were yummy and messy!

On Thursday was Morgan's last day of preschool. Can you believe this is the same little girl!?!

She just looks so OLD!

She refuses to let a photo opportunity pass.

Morgan took in some gifts to her teachers for the end of the year. These ideas were Half Mommy/Half Pinterest.  Morgan helped with all the details though.

That evening the school puts on a picnic before the Graduation for all the families. The weather was perfect and the food was yummy!  Another thanks to Pinterest for the potato side dish we brought.

After the picnic, we moved into the church for the little ceremony. This one pictured below was acting like a wild woman and most of family was running behind. Sounds about right!

Walking in...

The kids had 3 songs they sang before receiving their certificates and goodie bags.  It was completely adorable! Then Mrs. Mix subjected us to a tear jerking slideshow of the past year of preschool.

If you know Morgan would you believe that she barely says a word at school? Apparently this is why she has to much to say at home.  I think the one person she actually talks to while at school is Madyson. Aren't they cute?
