Kelly's Wedding Shower

June was a busy month. Part of my anxiety was planning my sister's Bridal Shower.  I tend to really get into the details of things. While my mom quietly rolls her eyes at me, I tell her that you can't just serve Jo-Jos and Chicken and send out an E-vite.  We clearly are on different sides of the spectrum when it comes to parties.  That's why as the MOH I exerted my power and told her to just take instructions. LOL.  She did with little resistance.

I know during all this that I'm causing myself more work and anxiety by bothering myself with all the small stuff but in a weird way that is where I find the fun.  Those are the things that people remember.  Most of all those are the things I wanted my sister to remember.

Between four of us we put in a lot of work.  We met about 3 or so weeks before the shower to get all our ideas and divide up responsibilities.  I had already been Pinterest-ing my ass off for a while so I had a few of them.  We decided on games, food, centerpieces, etc.

As you can see we went with a Soup and Salad theme.  I have to say I think it was a hit.  We each made a crockpot of soup and had Vegetable w/ cheese tortellini, Zuppa, French Onion, and Baked Potato.  Following that we had salad with about 25 different toppings and dressings.  To top off the food we did some fruit, veggies, and tons of bread.  OG breadsticks, beer bread, spinach artichoke bread, etc. etc.

As you've heard with any party I throw my wonderful friend Becky of Sweets and Stems made the cupcakes and cakepop favors. Once again, rave reviews.  I myself made the cupcake flags.  I have to say I don't know that I'll go back to cupcake toppers for anything.  These were so easy and so much more sleek looking I think.  As far as the cake pops we had those at each place setting in a pair.  Bride and Groom.  Becky really outdid herself with these plus they were super yummy!

This picture kind of sucks but I ordered these cute napkins that said
..In 42 days Kelly is getting married!

I found the idea for these centerpieces on Pinterest but all the credit goes to fellow bridesmaid Jessica.  I literally showed her the picture and she duplicated it.  Exactly what I was picturing.  Everyone loved them!

Another Pinterest find.  This punch was good.

This was a gift that the Bridesmaids went in on for Kelly and Greg.  It was a wine basket with 5 bottles of wine.  Each bottle of wine has a specific time and purpose for drinking.  I even found a brand of wine called Middle Sister.  Fitting.

Our final big piece was the game we played.  No one in my family is a huge fan of games at showers.  I of course (cue broken record) found a really cute one on Pinterest. I gave it to Ashley and said, do this.  She did it, it was exactly like the pictures I gave her and again a huge hit.  Since I lost the scratch offs we were supposed to play Bingo with I improvised.  I still had the Bingo sheets so I used those.  Anytime you got a Bingo of any sort you got a Who has the Groom? card.   If you opened it up and it had Greg's picture, you won!  If not, you got one with a celebrity.  It was really funny and people were even trading celebrities at the end.

I think it went off well.  I'm glad it's over and I hope my sister enjoyed it!
