8/6/11: Surprise!!

Yes, yes, Paul threw me a surprise birthday party.  While it wasn't so much a surprise, as I knew something was up I just wasn't sure what. Due to some last minute change of plans that party was moved from its original location to our house.  This of course caused a problem because I couldn't be there.  The great idea? Grandma Kathy and Grandma Kay taking me and my kids to Kohls during naptime.  Let me tell you folks, when you don't really care to be shopping, you don't need anything, and its your kids naptime...it does NOT equal a great time.  All for a good cause though!

Anyway, Paul with the help of my family put together a great party.  He also admitted that he now understands what I go through when I throw the kids birthday parties.  Maybe he'll help out some more now.. ;).   It was a wonderful Cleveland Indians baseball theme.  I got to spend some time with my closest friends and family and overall had a great 30th birthday.  Thanks to everyone who came, who helped, and who celebrated with us!  As you can see the kids had a good time as well!

Thank you Paul!!!!

7/30/11: Dirty 30!

Many of the girls on my mom board turned/will turn 30 in 2011.  We decided we needed to celebrate this momentous occasion with a GTG.  We ending up picking an Indians game (and a great one at that!) and everyone met downtown to start the festivities.  All in all I think there were around 25 of us.  The weather was perfect, the game was awesome, and the company was even better! We even got to enjoy a great fireworks show after the game as part of Rock N Blast. While I was sad that I was unable to go out afterwards with everyone, I'm very much looking forward to the next big group GTG when I am a lot less pregnant. :)

7/27/11: I'm 30, Giddy up!

Team Blue

Team Pink

So I'm 30. I'm the most excited 30 year old in the world! :)  The last few years have had a lot of ups and downs for our family.  2011 though so far has been a banner year.  Lots of big things have happened and there is so much more to come.  I'm very lucky to be surrounded by awesome friends and family.  Some of those awesome people joined us for some ice cream cake, pizza, and cupcakes tonight. To be honest the original plan was for everyone (Paul and I included) to find out the gender of baby #3 that evening.  Since my appt was switched from this morning to yesterday morning we had a change of plans.  I knew there was no way I could go to the appt and then wait 36 hours before finding out.  As you know Paul and I ended up finding out and then surprised everyone else tonight.

I filled the cupcakes I had made with pink frosting and we had everyone bite into them at the same time.  Team Pink wins again! Of course no birthday is complete without a Cleveland Indians ice cream cake. Thanks everyone for coming out and celebrating with us! I'm really looking forward to my 30s!
