Easter 2014

I can't really decide if I like Easter being later or earlier in the year. When it's earlier it seems to sneak up on me, but when it's later it's like I almost forget about it and then BAM! Easter.  The upside to it being later is that :fingers crossed: the weather is better for things like Easter Egg Hunts.  This year we hit up two Easter egg hunts.  The first one is the annual one our neighborhood puts on.  It was great weather and the kids had fun.  It's especially nice for the younger ones since there aren't a ton of people.  The next weekend we headed to Ravenna for their hunt.  Rylee and Tenley went first and it wasn't so great.  Nothing like good ole Ravenna in the "no parents allowed" hunt and then a million parents scoop their kids up and start grabbing all the eggs from 3 and 4 year olds. Some things never change because the same crap happened when I was like 4 and hitting up this egg hunt.  Rylee freaked out upon them saying go and basically stood and cried.  Tenley could not have cared less and when I tried to encourage her to grab the eggs by putting one in her bag to show her how to do it, she promptly threw it back out.  Egg total: 1.  Morgan and Mackenzie's age group was next and there were a ton of kids and it was complete chaos.  Morgan ended up with one egg.  Not so successful during that hunt.

The night before Easter the girls decorated eggs for the Easter bunny.  It really boiled down to Morgan and Rylee decorating and Tenley making a mess. They seemed to enjoy themselves so that is all that matters.

We followed that up with a lovely Easter morning, followed by a wonderful Easter day at my parents house.  The girls loved their baskets! They each had a few toys in their baskets and all Tenley could see was candy.  She was not interested at all by any toys, because OMG! Chocolate!  Happy Easter Everyone!

Easter Egg Hunt

Other than our little neighborhood hunt, the girls had never been to an actual big Easter Egg Hunt.  We took them into Ravenna (the one I always used to go to!) since the weather was actually decent for the end of March.  I knew Morgan would be fine, but I wasn't sure how aggressive Rylee would be in such a large group of kids.  They both actually did quite well, even though Morgan started out only picking up the pink eggs.  One of them even won one of the big prizes!

As you can tell my kids are HUGE fans of the Easter Bunny.

Egg Hunt: Take Two + Decorating Eggs

Easter Hunt: Take Two = Epic Fail.

In the morning we had to go meet up with Morgan's TBall team to get her sized for a uniform and meet the other kids.  It took a little longer than expected and we had to race to Fred Fuller Park in Kent.  My sister and Mom were already there with Mackenzie so we kept checking with them to see if it had started yet.  Well, we missed it.  Apparently it didn't even last more than 5 minutes anyway.  Maybe next year...

We figured since we were already there we might as well stand in line to have our pictures taken with the Easter Bunny.  I've actually never done this with the kids since I find the Easter Bunny to be a little creepy and after the melt downs with Santa in years past, I figured it wasn't worth it.

Everyone waiting in line.  It was so nice out that day!

Mackenzie with Mr. Bunny.

Rylee officially hates the Easter Bunny with the fire of a million burning suns.

So if you pretend I only have two kids, this picture turned out great! ;)

Still not a fan.

Later that evening Morgan and Rylee colored some eggs for Mr. Bunny.  They get so excited and then lose interest pretty fast.  They just don't have time to wait for the damn eggs to sit in the color. If I had a dollar for every time I heard "Are they done yet!?", I'd be rich.

I think the egg Morgan is doing she insisted we put Aunt Mindy's name on.

Who wants to put stickers on the eggs when you can put them on your arms!?
