Today marks Stu's 8th birthday. This also means that is how long Paul and I have been living together. Eight.Long.Years. people. ;) Stu was the first pet that Paul and I owned together. Stu is actually a really really good cat. He knows how to get close enough to you without getting in your way. He's got incredible hair that is so long and soft but never manages to get tangled. Ever. He's definitely the leader of our house as far as the pets goes and well sometimes the people. He spends most of his time on the couch or the bed. He loves his treats and will only bother you if the food bowl is empty. He's always helped Paul and I make our houses feel like homes and he sure has been through a lot with us over the last 8 years. Happy Birthday Stu!!

3/15/11: A full house
This is what our bed looks like all.the.time. Except usually Paul and I are both in it too. 4 of the 5 animals sleep in our room at night. Kalie sleeps at my feet. Ace sleeps on the floor on his own big pillow. Stu is usually in the room somewhere, sometimes at my head, sometimes at Paul's feet. Roman starts off who knows where, and always, ALWAYS ends up in between Paul and I, under the covers, with his head on the pillow. It's really annoying and cute all at the same time. As much as it may be uncomfortable or annoying there is something comforting about having your animals near you when you sleep. It just feels different if they aren't there. So while I get tired of the meowing and the barking, I really do love these guys!

2/2/11: Groundhog's Edition
Woo-hoo that little rodent did NOT see his shadow! While that may help some other people around the world, here in Ohio I know better. I'm hopeful but I know better.
If you don't already know we have a few rodents of our own. 5 to be exact. 3 cats and 2 dogs. This is Stu (the black one) and Roman (pretty obvious by now right?). Stu is doing what he typically does, ruling the roost. He was our first baby way back when we moved in together and likes to keep the rest of the animals (dogs included) in line. Roman is a little more of a newcomer. We got him shortly after Morgan was born. All of our cats are rescues and about a month after Morgan was born Stu's brother Leo ended up passing away. :( A couple months later Roman was a kitten who needed a home. Paul was suckered in and we took him. He is basically an in your face cat. Which sometimes is nice and the other 95% of the time is super annoying. You know, like those times you're trying to sleep, or eat, or basically relax in general...yup he's right there next to you. Also? He likes to terrorize our other cat Henri. It gets old to hear them tearing and screeching through the house.
All in all, we obviously love our animals. They definitely keep our house exciting!
